2026 Autumn Canton Fair Guide for Overseas Buyers
The 140th Canton Fair will return to Guangzhou in autumn 2026. Phase 1 runs from 15–19 October, Phase 2 from 23–27 October, and Phase 3 from 31 October–4 November. The venue is the Canton Fair Complex at 382 Yuejiang Middle Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou.
Before booking your flight, check which phase covers the products you want to source. Overseas buyers need a Buyer Badge to enter the exhibition halls. Pre-register through the official Canton Fair buyer service system, save your confirmation or QR code, and carry your original passport when collecting the badge. Registration points and opening hours may change, so check the latest official notice shortly before travelling.
Guangzhou is normally warm in October and early November, although the exhibition halls can feel cool because of the air conditioning. Light business clothing, breathable trousers, a thin jacket and comfortable walking shoes are the most practical combination. A compact umbrella, power bank, universal adapter, personal medication and a lightweight document bag are also useful. You may easily walk more than 10,000 steps in a day.
Pazhou and the Haizhu metro corridor are the most convenient places to stay, but rooms sell quickly and prices rise during the fair. Zhujiang New Town is a good choice for business meetings and international dining, while Tianhe offers reliable transport and a wide range of shops and restaurants. Before booking, confirm that the hotel accepts international guests and check the cancellation policy, breakfast, Wi-Fi, laundry service and actual walking distance to the metro.
A taxi or ride-hailing journey from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Pazhou often takes an hour or longer, depending on traffic. The metro is cheaper and more predictable, although less convenient with heavy luggage. Buyers arriving through Hong Kong or Shenzhen can also connect to Guangzhou South by high-speed train. Train tickets must match the name and passport number shown on your travel document.
Mobile payment is widely used in China. It is worth installing Alipay and WeChat before departure and following their official process for linking an eligible international card. Larger hotels and shopping centres are more likely to accept foreign cards directly, but smaller restaurants, taxis and convenience stores may not. Keep some RMB cash and a second bank card as a backup.
Do not fill every hour with booth visits. Set aside time for serious supplier meetings or a factory inspection. A booth is useful for comparing samples, while a factory visit gives you a clearer view of production, quality control, batch management and delivery capability.
